Hammock
Hammock and hammock chairs are a passion that I have had for 14 years.
I designed a very large range of different hammock chairs over the years.
I have cut back on how many I manufacture now, but you are still able to order if you need a high quality padded hammock that can handle a larger weight load.
My biggest hammock is the normal style hammock. This one of mine is 1.5 meters wide ans approximately 2.6 meters long from pole to pole. If you add the rope then it is another meter longer.
It was never meant to be a small hammock. most hammocks get abused by too many people getting into them at ojnce anyway.
A cheaper and more common hammock would very often not survive that moment when your friends decide to suddenly all dive into your hammock for a cell phone picture. This hammock can handle it.
PRICE; Full sized hammock – padded in normal cotton twill fabric. R1700 00 ( price valid until February 2010)
You will notice that the ropes on one of the sides goes to two points . This is to stop the hammock from flipping you onto the floor.
This one is mounted onto a full sized stand and is fairly portable. We move the stand to different parts of the garden depending on the season.
Box hammock Chairs.
These hammock chairs are the closest hanging chair that i have to the ones that are often imported into South Africa from South America.
Generally all of those ones scare me as I am a little large and I am scared that I will break the chairs. NOT MINE – my box hammock chairs can easily take a weight of up to 200 kgs.
They are generally designed to sit in as a normal chair. Your body angle allows you to carry on with every day things like eating and drinking.
I have designed a set of four in the past that are hung around a secure table and they were used in a pub as chairs round a round table.
Hanging Hammock Chairs
My most popular seller by a very large margin.
I have found that when you give all the different types of hammocks an equal chance of being tested that 80% of people will abandon that “I would love to have a hammock” ideal for the reality of a more comfortable chair, that is more versatile and generally all round a massive winner.
Those of you reading this and scoffing have clearly not sat in one of my hammock chairs for five minutes.
I will admit that there is a certain type of person who has never been comfortable in the reclining hammock situation and that is that type of person who never relaxes. They have all sorts or comments like “but there is so much stuff to do” but it reality they can never relax and have a monkey attached to their backs.
(I have developed a special set of glasses that you can order from me that will show that monkey up on a persons back – and then you can choose to ignore them before it is too late)
Now the hammock chairs are available to be ordered and this price will hold until February 2010
For the padded luxury chair including the footrest they are R1200.00 each
This one was mounted into the cement slab above with a quality Rawl bolt.
If you are a camping or traveling type of person a portable tripod works very well. I personally am a little addicted to the idea, and have spent many a happy day lounging in a hammock chair on beaches and at music festivals and next to rivers. All I ever need as an extra is no rain some shade a few books and possibly food and water.
